Nominated by a fan for Competitor Magazine’s annual “Best
Of” competition in 2013, See Jane Run has won for the Pacific West Region’s
Best Women’s Race!
See Jane Run is a local company since 2000, with stores in
San Francisco, Oakland and Danville. They are proud to put on races for women
that are well-managed, very supportive for first-time racers, and with lots of
fun extras. From the whimsical group warm-up to the inspirational signs on the
course, and from the locally-designed t-shirts and medals to the champagne and
chocolate served up at the end, runners, walkers and racers come away with a
celebration of themselves that’s much bigger than just a race.
Competitor’s printed magazine is distributed nationally via
eight regional editions across the United States.
Earn money with those old shoes. Please bring your used – but not abused – running shoes to the expo/registration for repurposing with the More Foundation Group. MORE (a 501c3 non-profit) works to eradicate poverty in Africa and offset carbon with regenerative forest-farming in the Runners Village Ghana, West Africa. Your running shoe donation makes history with perpetual harvesting.
Never before has so much been accomplished with so little!
How it Works: MORE is 100% funded with used athletic shoes recycled and sold to street vendors in developing countries. Proceeds are used to provide seeds, tools, and training for Africa's poorest farmers. Empower hundreds of poor farmers in The Runners Village to create a perpetual harvest while healing the earth.
Lift a poor farm family out of poverty. The Benefits to Farmers and the World: Year-round sustained harvests; better nutrition; income generation, reforestation, soil building, environmental healing, and so much MORE. Each family plants thousands of trees each year.
GO MORE GREEN - One Pair of your used running shoes will offset 1 ton of CO2 from the atmosphere. Please recycle and re-purpose your running shoes.

See Jane Win Challenge
Winning isn't only about crossing that finish line first. Sometimes it's about finding sanity, sharing time with friends, conquering self doubt, accomplishing a PR or just enjoying some good chocolate. Whatever it is for you, we know that when you step up to the start line, you have already won. We hope you are all joining us for the See Jane Run Half Marathon and 5K in 2014.
There's another way to win as well: When you know that every ounce of effort you put in is also supporting a great cause. I'm writing with the hope you'll join me in the See Jane Win Challenge, a fun opportunity to make your race count for something bigger than you, and all I ask is that you bring a dollar to the race. That's right, one dollar. Then I want you to run faster than me.
Every time I bend over to lace up my shoes, or pay for a race, I feel immense gratitude that I am able to do these things. I’ve watched family and friends suffer from physical disabilities, so I will never take for granted the ability to stand upright, to walk or to run. Running is a blessed gift. It isn’t always easy, it isn’t always fun, but it is always rewarding.
To that end, I want to use my running to give back to the charities supported by See Jane Run in 2014. At each of the four See Jane Run races, I will compete to “win” the 5K. For those who know me, you know I have never won a race. Not even close! This year I will donate one dollar for every person who beats me in the See Jane Run 5K races. And I challenge you to donate one dollar if I beat you. Please bring your one dollar bill to the race. I am going to run my heart out, for me, for you and for the charities we support. I hope you can take a few minutes to check out our charities that need our help in 2014 and do what you can. Things are tough for everyone right now. The economy has taken its toll on our friends, our family and on the causes we hold dear. One dollar from each of us will go a long way.

This event can't happen without the generosity of the volunteers. We offer non-profits a volunteer stipend for groups over 10. Individuals get See Jane Run gift certificates or free 5K race registrations and entry into a raffle. Enter your information below and we will contact you with more details.
We also have some paid positions available for those who have experience. These jobs require availability for the entire weekend of the race and some days prior to race day. We need individuals who have are physically able to lift heavy items and stand on their feet for many hours at a time. Having race experience is helpful but not required. Please fill out this form and tell us about yourself.
