What’s better than a cure for breast cancer? Never getting it at all. That’s why we support the Breast Cancer Fund's work to stop the disease before it starts. We are thrilled that the Breast Cancer Fund is the national nonprofit partner of the See Jane Run Race Series for 2012. This unique partnership will raise funds to support the Breast Cancer Fund’s important work of breast cancer prevention and empower the See Jane Run community with knowledge to turn awareness into action . See Jane Run will offer FREE registrations to anyone who raises a minimum of $500 for the Breast Cancer Fund before their race day and the Breast Cancer Fund will be attending all of our races to help educate our runners about the environmental causes of the disease and ways to reduce their risk. Seems like a win-win to us!
The See Jane Prevent Breast Cancer Challenge
At See Jane Run, we like a good challenge, which is why we host races for women who want to compete and have fun doing it. So here’s our See Jane Prevent Breast Cancer challenge to you:
You raise $500 or more for the Breast Cancer Fund, See Jane Run refunds your race registration fee. Together, we make a difference!
Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer? And did you know that only half of these cases can be tied to traditional risk factors like genetic inheritance, diet and reproductive history? More and more scientific evidence is linking breast cancer to the chemicals in our everyday environment—chemicals in our food, our products, our air and our water. Your mother, your sister, your best friend, your daughter, yourself—we all know someone affected by breast cancer. The disease is relentless, so we’re challenging you to be relentless too by making an impact for prevention with your run.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund in 2012.
Here’s how you can join the race to prevent breast cancer:
Register for your run NOW!

See Jane. See Jane Run. See Jane Win!
Winning isn't only about crossing that finish line first. Sometimes it's about finding sanity, sharing time with friends, conquering self doubt, accomplishing a PR or just enjoying some good chocolate. Whatever it is for you, we know that when you step up to the start line, you have already won. We hope you are all joining us for the See Jane Run Half Marathon and 5K in 2012.
There's another way to win as well: When you know that every ounce of effort you put in is also supporting a great cause. I'm writing with the hope you'll join me in the See Jane Win Challenge, a fun opportunity to make your race count for something bigger than you, and all I ask is that you bring a dollar to the race. That's right, one dollar. Then I want you to run faster than me... Read more »
This year we are proud to support Team Survivor Northwest as our See Jane Win benificiary. All of these causes are doing amazing work and need our help. Please do what you can to support them in any way that make sense.
History: Team Survivor Northwest (TSNW) has been serving women cancer survivors since 1994. It started with a group of women survivors training for a local triathlon. Afterward they determined to continue their journey together. A consulting physician monitored their training and provided space and staffing to start TSNW. In 1996 Washington incorporated us as a non-profit. For over 14 years we have grown to serve thousands of survivors through cancer specific fitness and health education programs.
Mission: Providing guidance and encouragement to every woman cancer survivor so that through her accomplishments she is empowered to lead a fuller, more physically active life.
