I started running when I was six years old. My first workouts where on an old dirt track in East Berlin and what drew me the most was the ability to hang out with my friends after school without getting into trouble. Soon enough, coaches saw my potential and started giving me extra workouts. Within the years, fun turned into passion and I was hooked. I got addicted to the adrenaline rush you have right before the gun goes off, the utter feeling of exhaustion after you crossed the finish line. Sometimes I wasn't even able to recognize my parents for half an hour after the finish. By the time I went to middle school Track and Field was a part of my life, just like going to school and eating. I have learned so much from the sport, made so many true friends, gained discipline, perseverance, and most of all the drive to succeed and finish. It was not always about winning, but about giving the best you had. I competed in the National Championships in Germany where I missed the bronze medal in long jump by a quarter inch. I was then recruited from Fresno State to run for them and I booked my ticket to California. After graduation and entering the business world, it is great to have the chance to stay connected to the sport by coaching the amazing ladies at SJR and to see them push themselves to the next level.

I am looking for a fun and successful future with the entire SJR team.

Best wishes,
Robert.
